the Greenwich Piano Institute offers ONLINE american certificates to students at any level:

The GPI AMERICAN CERTIFICATE IN PIANO PERFORMANCE has six levels of difficulty for its music competitions, starting from beginner level to the most difficult.
NOTICE: any GPI American Certificates shall be assigned a designated Certificate Number and retained in our records for a duration of ten years from the date of issuance.

  • LEVEL ONE 

5 min. : free repertoire

3 ascending/descending major scales : C Major, G Major, D Major,  performed by separated hands (2 octaves)

  • LEVEL TWO 

8 min. :  free repertoire

3 ascending/descending major scales: C Major, G Major, D Major,  performed by both hands together in parallel motion (2 octaves)    

 

  •  LEVEL THREE

12 min. : free repertoire

4 ascending/descending major scales: C Major, G Major, D Major, F Major  (4 octaves, velocity: two notes per Beat, Beat = 58 ) performed by both hands together in parallel motion

        

  • LEVEL FOUR

16 min.: free repertoire

3 ascending/descending major and minor (Melodic)  scales: F Major/ D Minor, D Major/B Minor, E Major/C# Minor  

( Scales: 4 octaves, Legato style, velocity: four notes per Beat, Beat = 58 ) performed by both hands together in parallel motion

  • LEVEL FIVE

20 min.: free repertoire  

4 ascending/descending major and minor (Harmonic and Melodic) scales: E Major/ C# Minor, Bb Major/G Minor, B Major/G# Minor, Eb

  • GPI ARTIST DIPLOMA EXAM

1. Who can apply to
From beginners to advanced piano students of any ages, from all over the world outside USA. 


2. How is GPI American Certificate in Piano Performance exams graded?
all six levels are a way of telling where you are as an. GPI American Certificate in Piano Performance levels are 1-6. All levels are graded out of 100. GPI faculty and GPI Certified Teachers will award or take away points for criteria such as tone quality, dynamics, expression, articulation, note accuracy, rhythm, the performance itself, scale playing, and many other things.


3. What are the GPI American Certificate in Piano Performance exam level requirements?
Each student is required to select ONE OR MORE THAN ONE solo piece to perform, located in the GPI American Certificate in Piano Performance Repertoire. 
In addition, there are scales to perform. You can consult the repertoire here.

Each level has it’s own difficulties as they increase, so make sure to discuss with your teacher exactly what you’ll need to know.

  • Level I       : $60 

  • Level II      : $70

  • Level III     : $80

  • Level IV    : $90

  • Level V     : $100

  • Level VI    : $110

  • GPI AMERICAN ARTIST DIPLOMA  : $150  

6. How Can I submit my video Recording? 

Recordings need not be professionally recorded, however it is to the participant’s benefit to provide a recording of high quality.

Recordings with too much background noise or distortion make it difficult for adjudicators to render a fair judgment of technical and artistic qualities.

Video recordings must be hosted on a public video platform easily accessible in the USA, such as YouTube or via WeTransfer at GreenwichPianoInstitute@gmail.com

​Before going through the application process, participants must ensure that their video link(s) conforms to the following adherents and permissions:
The camera angle must be fixed (no multiple angles), clearly showing the performer’s hands, feet, and face at all times.

The video link audio must not contain any spoken monologue, dialogue, or any other vocalization that might identify the participant in any way, including age or gender.
Although the video quality must be clear enough to recognize the student and speak to the authenticity of the performance, the most important aspect is the audio quality. 
Student may opt to record at a professional studio, or may use common devices such as ipad, cell phones, cameras...
Recorded performances must be performed entirely from memory.
Recordings and other submitted materials will not be returned.

It is not  imperative for candidates to perform from memory at each level of examination, from Level One to Level Six.
